The Friendly Schools program focuses on Social, Emotional and Anti Bullying Initiatives. Developed with over 20 years of research, it is nationally and internationally recognised for enhancing student health and wellbeing.

The role of Gawler Primary School's Aboriginal Community Education Officer (ACEO) includes participating in the development and implementation of strategies to support Aboriginal students and promoting the Aboriginal community voice in educational decision making.

Gawler Primary School has been involved in the First Lego League (FLL) international competition since 2019. Our FLL team is selected early each year after an application process by students.

The whole school community embraces Japanese language and culture through their classrooms, sport and other activities.

Gawler Primary School offers science as a specialty subject.

Gawler Primary School offers students access to a wide range of sports including swimming, soccer, football, netball and cross country, as part of the Northern SAPSASA team. Opportunities exist for students who achieve success in their chosen sport(s) to move on to represent the school at State competition level.

Gawler Primary School has a strong belief that early intervention in a child's learning can make a big difference to their outcomes. Our intervention program is run by SSO Tracy Tye, and includes several intervention strategies for both literacy and numeracy.
