Gawler Primary School Behaviour Management

Our goal is to foster and encourage positive and inclusive behaviour by all Gawler Primary School students. However, we recognise that this is not always successful and this policy address those occasions.

When responding to inappropriate behaviour the level of consequence for the offending student will be determined according to their age, the number of incidents or prevalence of the unacceptable behaviour, and the circumstances in which it occurred.

Teachers will consider the following when determining consequences. Is the behaviour:

• to themselves or others?
• non-compliant?
• inconsiderate?
• interfering with other students’ right to learn and our teacher’s right to teach?
• recurring?
