Gawler is a Reception to Year 6 Primary School located in Church Hill State Heritage area of Gawler. It was one of the first eight model schools in South Australia, built in 1877 and opened in the following year.
The original school building and other original structures are State and National Estate heritage-listed items.
Our impressive heritage building houses our extensive and welcoming library, a modern computer suite, two classrooms and a large General Purpose room where various activities and functions are held. The old Canteen is used for our Breakfast Club that runs each morning. The modern kitchen facilities are used by classes and parent groups for cooking

Our School
Gawler Primary School boasts a range of facilities and services throughout. Our school is accommodated within a historic site yet provides a modern approach to learning and education. In comparison to other schools in our area Gawler Primary School is a small country school set in a metropolitan area.
Gawler Primary has an OSHC service run by Happy Haven held in their own OSHC space, Breakfast Club supported by KickStart for Kids, and onsite ACEO and an onsite Pastoral Care worker.
Our teachers and children have access to an expansive array of resources and several extracurricular activities. From the rich library in our heritage building to the nature play space in the south yard. We have a Lego League team and students that participate in a range of SAPSASA sports.
